If you love old cars, really old cars, then the Antique Car Museum is for you; specialising in preserving Packard cars, they have the largest collection anywhere. As well as the cars, there is an extensive collection of hood ornaments, gear shift knobs, old gas stations signs and much more, as well as an entire exhibit dedicated to Franklin D. Roosevelt.

- 1916 Packard Twin Six Town Car.

- The museum requests a minimum donation of $10 for 12 years old and over, $5 for children 5-12 and free for under 5s.

Hugh Taylor Birch State Park is a gift to Fort Lauderdale from Hugh Taylor Birch, it’s just a short walk from beachside shops to an oasis of calm. Whether you want to rent a canoe and enjoy the freshwater lagoon, hike the two trails or just enjoy the local plants and wildlife, the park is well worth a visit. You can even get to the beach through a pedestrian tunnel underneath route A1A!

- Enjoying the tranquillity of the park.
- Picnicking overlooking the channel.
- Spotting some of the local wildlife.

- Admission is $6 per vehicle for 2-8 people, $4 for a single occupant vehicle or motorcycle and $2 for pedestrians, cyclists and extra passengers.

If you just can’t get enough of cruising, then why not try a slightly different cruise on the Jungle Queen Riverboat. From Dinner with a show cruises to afternoon cruises to tropical isle or a shorter 90-minute sightseeing cruise, whatever you pick you’ll enjoy the Jungle Queen as you cruise around the “Venice of America”.

Built in 1920 on one of Fort Lauderdale’s barrier islands, Bonnet House now preserves 35 acres of native barrier island ecosystem. Explore the grounds where Tequesta Indian once walked and take a guided tour of the Main House which contains the collections of the Birch/Bartlett families.

The largest butterfly house in the world, with over 20,000 butterflies and birds take flight right around you. As well as enjoying these beautiful insects up close, you can learn all about, and see, the stages of their lifecycle as well as enjoy tropical birds and lorikeets and other insects.

Before your cruise, why not be a pirate for a couple of hours in this interactive adventure. Bluefoot Pirate Adventure sails up and down the Intracoastal Waterway, a well-known location for pirates that you may have to fight off during your cruise!

Fort Lauderdale’s Swap Shop really does have something to appeal to everyone, want to see a movie? it’s a 14 screen movie theatre. Want to search for bargains at a flea market? It’s the largest daily flea market in the world. Want to check out awesome supercars?
It has a free museum showcasing Ferraris (including an F1 car), McLarens, a Ford GT, Nissan GT-R and more. There is also a carnival and rides, a farmers market, a video arcade and you can even get your nails done or have a haircut!

Fort Lauderdale Fire and Safety Museum preserves the historic Fire Station 3 and shares the inspiring story of Fort Lauderdale’s Fire Department.
DON’T MISS:
- The 1942 Chevrolet Engine.
- The Mediterranean style of the fire station, including the chandelier, rotunda and tile mosaics.
- Heroic stories of major fires throughout the years.

Stretching almost two and a half miles from the beach, across the Intracoastal Waterway, past US Route 1 and to Bubier Park, East Las Olas Boulevard offers boutique shops, fabulous restaurants, art galleries and cafes and bars. The highest concentration of attractions is 6th and 11th Avenues, and this area also offers plenty of parking options.
