WELCOME TO ONE TRIP AT A TIME
We’re Lee and Stacey, a Brit and a Canadian, who share a deep passion for travel and adventure.
Our journey began in 2014, and since then, we’ve been exploring the world together and documenting our experiences to share with fellow travel enthusiasts.
Our Story
We met many years ago while working for the same company, and our mutual love of travel brought us together.
Despite living in separate countries (Lee in the UK and Stacey in the USA), we managed a long-distance relationship and eventually married. We are now settled in Stacey’s home country, Canada, in beautiful Nova Scotia.
Initially, we were part-time travellers, making the most of weekends, public holidays, business trips, and annual vacation leave. We planned our destinations carefully, balancing memorable experiences with cost-effectiveness to maximize our travel opportunities.
In 2019, with Stacey’s son off to university and both of us leaving our full-time jobs, we gained more time and flexibility to travel and we haven’t looked back!
From Road Trippers to Cruisers
Our travel adventures began as keen road trippers with an in-depth and moving exploration of the battle sites and memorials of WWII in Normandy, France. We’ve since travelled the Western Front, Ireland, California’s Pacific Coast Highway, and many other destinations on some amazing road trips.
Expanding our horizons to cruising, we hesitantly stepped aboard our first ship, Navigator of the Seas, unsure if the sea days would leave us longing for adventure. But oh boy, were we in for a delightful surprise!
We quickly embraced the cruising life and have since spent over 120 nights on various cruise ships, including an epic 50-night journey from Lisbon to Alaska via the Panama Canal aboard the wonderful Norwegian Sun. When we disembarked, we’d been on board longer than some of the crew!
We’re still hitting the road for in-depth exploring, but cruising has unlocked a world of tantalizing previews of new destinations which certainly helps to keep our travel goals and bucket list growing!
Speaking of Bucket Lists and Travel Goals…
Our wanderlust knows no bounds, and we have some ambitious travel goals that keep our adventures exciting and our spirits high.
Here’s a glimpse into some of our goals and incredible bucket list journeys we’ve undertaken so far:
Our Travel Goals
Visit 100 Countries: We aim to explore at least 100 countries, immersing ourselves in diverse cultures and experiences. So far, we’ve visited over 50 countries together (and some others separately), each one adding a unique chapter to our travel story.
500 UNESCO World Heritage Sites: We’re on a mission to visit 500 UNESCO sites, delving into the world’s most significant cultural and natural landmarks. Each site offers a glimpse into the rich tapestry of human history and the wonders of the natural world.
Castles and Heritage Steam Railways in England: With Lee’s love of steam trains and Stacey’s love of castles we set a goal to visit all the castles (or as many as possible!) and ride all the heritage steam railways in England. With all the travelling we do in England we are well on our way with this goal.
Epic Cruises: Our cruise bucket list is equally ambitious. We dream of a transpacific voyage, an awe-inspiring Antarctica cruise, and the ultimate adventure – a world cruise!
Bucket List Adventures Checked Off
Transatlantic Cruises: We’ve crossed the Atlantic both ways, experiencing the grandeur and serenity of the open ocean.
Panama Canal: Traversing this engineering marvel was a highlight, offering a unique perspective on one of the world’s most significant waterways.
Alaska: The wild beauty of Alaska left us spellbound, with its majestic landscapes and abundant wildlife.
Exploring England: From the bustling streets of London to the tranquil countryside, we making it our mission to explore every county of England in depth, uncovering historical and cultural treasures. So far we’ve covered Cornwall, Shropshire, Somerset, and just about everything you can think of to see and do in London!
Albania: Our trip to Albania was absolutely unforgettable, revealing a hidden gem with its rich history and stunning landscapes.
Nova Scotia: Closer to home, we continually explore the natural beauty and cultural richness of our home province in Canada.
Our bucket list is a testament to our endless curiosity and passion for discovery. Each goal represents a new adventure, a new story, and a new opportunity to share our experiences with you.
We hope our journey inspires you to create and pursue your own travel goals, turning your dreams into reality.
